Q: How much data will fit on my PDA?
A: The amount of data that fits on your PDA will depend on how much free memory your PDA has available. The Symbol Captra application takes approximately 500K of space. The data that is exported from QuickBooks also takes up space. Captra has many options to filter the amount of data that is sent to your PDA.
Q: I have more than one person in the field. Can I give each of them a PDA?
A: Symbol Captra is designed to allow multiple users running PDA’s to all synchronize their data back into QuickBooks. Multiple users are supported.
Q: I don’t want some of my staff seeing my cost prices or customer balances etc. Can I restrict some of Captra’s functionality for certain staff members?
A: The PDA does provide the capability to filter sensitive information. This is set up using the Adminsitration utility.
Q: Can I store historical transactions such as invoices, estimates etc.?
A: Historical transactions such as Estimates, Invoices, Credit memo’s and Purchase Orders can be sent to the PDA. The number of these transactions will really depend on the amount of spare memory available in your PDA. The transactions can be filtered to reduce the amount of memory required. For example you may wish to keep the last month's invoices on your PDA, but also see the last 3 months of purchase orders.
